Rider acknowledgment
Before requesting inclusion on a tracker or rider list, each rider should acknowledge that Idaho Smoke and Fire is informal, unsanctioned, unsupported and not sponsored; participation is voluntary; backcountry travel involves serious hazards; maps and tracker data may be inaccurate; and the rider is solely responsible for preparation, decisions, emergency communication, rescue and expenses.
Emergency planning
In an emergency, contact 911 or the appropriate local authority. Carry suitable communication and emergency equipment, and leave route and travel plans with a trusted personal contact.
